Medical Receptionist
Purpose of the Position
To receive and greet patients, assist with registration, retrieve previous medical history, and ensure smooth patient flow while delivering exemplary customer service.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome, receive, and guide patients through the registration and reception process.
- Retrieve and verify patient history, past records, and previous diagnoses.
- Drive scheduled patient appointments and assist in managing patient flow.
- Counsel patients for ophthalmic surgeries (Cataract, Retina, Glaucoma, Cornea, Oculoplasty, etc.).
- Stay updated with hospital services, technologies, premium lenses, and ophthalmic medications.
- Verify medical benefits for surgeries, procedures, and injections.
- Discuss costs, insurance coverage, and non-covered benefits clearly with patients.
- Complete consent forms and all mandatory pre-surgical documentation.
- Coordinate transfer of surgical documents to relevant teams or facilities.
- Inform patients about pre-admission requirements (labs, ECG) and day-of-surgery expectations.
- Provide instructions regarding post-operative care and follow-up visits.
- Schedule surgeries at the correct facility with accurate boarding details.
- Prepare and type History & Physical (H&P) forms accurately.
- Complete surgery encounter forms in a timely manner.
- Handle appointment calls, queries, and patient follow-ups professionally.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to hospital SOPs.
- Document patient interactions and maintain updated records.
- Perform additional duties to support hospital operations.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology / Sociology / Humanities / Science
- MBA or Healthcare Management qualification preferred
EXPERIENCE
- 1–3 years of counselling or patient-handling experience (hospital/ophthalmology preferred)
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Strong data entry skills; proficiency with office equipment.
- Knowledge of medical insurance, ICD coding, and medical terminology (preferred).
- Familiarity with EMR systems and chart documentation.
- Basic understanding of eye anatomy and ophthalmic terms.

Position Overview
Grewal Eye Institute is seeking a skilled and dedicated OT Technician to support the efficient functioning of the Operation Theatre in our advanced eye-care facility. The OT Technician will be responsible for preparing and maintaining the OT, assisting the surgical team with technical and equipment-related needs, ensuring sterility, and maintaining safety standards throughout all surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Operation Theatre Preparation & Maintenance
- Ensure the OT is fully set up, sterile, and ready for procedures.
- Check and prepare OT lights, microscopes, cautery, suction units, and other equipment.
- Maintain OT ambience, sterility, and readiness throughout the surgical schedule.
- Equipment Handling & Technical Support
- Ensure all surgical equipment is functioning properly before, during, and after procedures.

The OT Nurse will be responsible for preparing the OT before procedures, monitoring the surgical environment, ensuring sterility, assisting surgeons during operations, and providing comprehensive pre- and post-operative nursing care.
Key Responsibilities
- Operation Theatre Preparation & Safety
- Ensure the OT is adequately set up, sterile, and ready before every procedure.
- Check functionality of OT lights, microscopes, cautery, suction units, and other equipment.
- Maintain a sanitized, safe, and controlled surgical environment.
- Monitor OT surroundings, equipment, and sterile field throughout surgery.
- Pre-Operative Patient Care

Position Overview
Grewal Eye Institute is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Optometrist to provide high-quality eye examinations, detect vision problems and ocular diseases, and support the diagnostic and clinical workflow of our advanced eye-care facility. The Optometrist will be responsible for performing refractions, conducting diagnostic tests, assisting consultants, educating patients, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation. This role demands strong clinical competence, attention to detail, and excellent patient care skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Examination & Diagnosis
- Perform comprehensive routine eye examinations for OPD and IPD patients.
- Assess visual acuity, refractive errors, field of vision, binocular vision, and hand–eye coordination.
- Diagnose vision problems such as myopia, hyperopia, presbyopia, astigmatism, and color blindness.
- Identify signs of ocular disease, trauma, injury, or systemic health-related conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.
- Refraction & Prescription
- Conduct precise manual and automated refraction using AR/NCT, retinoscopy and subjective refraction.
- Prescribe corrective lenses (glasses/contact lenses) and assist patients with selection and fitting.
- Provide counselling on lens types, eyewear care and usage.
- Diagnostic Testing & Clinical Support
- Perform advanced diagnostic procedures including:
- OCT

Grewal Eye Institute is seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Biomedical Engineer to manage, maintain, and oversee all medical and surgical equipment across our state-of-the-art eye hospital in New Chandigarh. This role ensures the safety, accuracy, and optimal performance of biomedical devices used across OPD, OT, diagnostics, Retina, LASIK, and IPD areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Installation & Commissioning
- Install, configure, calibrate, and test ophthalmic and diagnostic equipment (Microscopes, Phaco machines, Lasers, OCT, Biometry, etc.).
- Ensure proper functionality and safety checks before clinical use.
- Coordinate with vendors for installation, demonstrations, and technical training.
- Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for biomedical equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment breakdowns to reduce downtime.
- Maintain updated maintenance logs, service records, calibration certificates, and equipment history sheets.
- Compliance, Safety & Quality Assurance
- Ensure adherence to NABH standards, biomedical safety protocols, and statutory compliance.
- Conduct electrical and functional safety checks across all devices.
- Coordinate with Infection Control for sterilization and disinfection requirements.
- Ensure proper biomedical waste handling related to equipment.
- Vendor & Contract Management
- Liaise with vendors for AMC/CMC, repairs, warranty claims, and spare part procurement.

Required Qualifications
Education
- B.Tech / B.E. in Biomedical Engineering
- Diploma in Biomedical Engineering with strong hospital experience may be considered.

Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in biomedical engineering, preferably in a hospital.
