ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Purpose of the Position
To receive and greet patients, assist with registration, retrieve previous medical history, and ensure smooth patient flow while delivering exemplary customer service.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome, receive, and guide patients through the registration and reception process.

Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering or Facility Management.
- Diploma/Certification in Hospital Facility Management preferred.
- MBA or advanced management qualification is an advantage.
Experience
- 5–7 years in Facility Management (healthcare preferred).
- Minimum 2 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
- Experience with hospital infrastructure and medical equipment.
- Ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of BMS, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and medical gas pipelines.
- Familiarity with OT requirements and hospital-grade engineering systems.
- Understanding of NABH & fire safety norms.

Biomedical Engineer – Grewal Eye Institute

Position Overview
Grewal Eye Institute is seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Biomedical Engineer to manage, maintain, and oversee all medical and surgical equipment across our state-of-the-art eye hospital in New Chandigarh. This role ensures the safety, accuracy, and optimal performance of biomedical devices used across OPD, OT, diagnostics, Retina, LASIK, and IPD areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Installation & Commissioning
- Install, configure, calibrate, and test ophthalmic and diagnostic equipment (Microscopes, Phaco machines, Lasers, OCT, Biometry, etc.).
- Ensure proper functionality and safety checks before clinical use.
- Coordinate with vendors for installation, demonstrations, and technical training.
- Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for biomedical equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment breakdowns to reduce downtime.
- Maintain updated maintenance logs, service records, calibration certificates, and equipment history sheets.
- Compliance, Safety & Quality Assurance
- Ensure adherence to NABH standards, biomedical safety protocols, and statutory compliance.
- Conduct electrical and functional safety checks across all devices.
- Coordinate with Infection Control for sterilization and disinfection requirements.
- Ensure proper biomedical waste handling related to equipment.
- Vendor & Contract Management
- Liaise with vendors for AMC/CMC, repairs, warranty claims, and spare part procurement.
- Track service agreements, renewals, and vendor performance.
- Support procurement with technical specifications and comparative evaluations.
- Inventory & Asset Management
- Maintain complete inventory of biomedical equipment, accessories, consumables, and critical spares.
- Track lifecycle, depreciation, replacements, and annual equipment planning.
- Ensure availability of essential consumables for OT and diagnostics.
- Clinical & Operational Support
- Provide technical assistance during surgeries, diagnostics, and procedures.
- Train nursing and technical staff on safe usage and basic troubleshooting.
- Respond rapidly during equipment failures in OT or OPD areas.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare biomedical MIS reports, breakdown logs, PM schedules, and compliance documentation.
- Maintain documentation for internal/external audits including NABH assessments.
- Support Quality Department during equipment-related reviews.
Required Qualifications
Education
- B.Tech / B.E. in Biomedical Engineering
- Diploma in Biomedical Engineering with strong hospital experience may be considered.
- Certification in medical equipment technology is an added advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in biomedical engineering, preferably in a hospital.
- Experience with ophthalmology equipment (Phaco, Retina Laser, OCT, etc.) preferred.
- Experience in NABH-accredited hospitals desirable.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of operation theatre equipment and diagnostic systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair biomedical devices effectively.
- Knowledge of PM protocols, calibration, and safety testing.
- Proficiency in documentation, MS Office, and asset tracking tools.
